From the desk of the Treasurer:
The City Treasurer is responsible for the accounting and reporting of financial activity in the City of Mt. Morris, in accordance with the City Charter, State law and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The treasurer also prepares the City’s annual budget, with the assistance from the City Manager and Department Directors.
The City Treasurer is responsible for the preparation of the City’s tax roll, as well as the invoicing, collection, and settlement of ad valorem property taxes in the City. We also collect as a pass-through agent for the Mt. Morris Public Schools, Genesee Intermediate School District (ISD), Mott Community College, State Education fund, Bishop Airport, Mass Transit Authority, and Genesee County.
Property Taxes
Summer tax bills-due and payable July 1st - September 15th.
Winter tax bills-due and payable December 1st - February 14th.
Late summer bills are subject to a 6% penalty. Late winter bills are subject to a 3% penalty. Please call the Treasurer’s office for the correct payoff amount.

City Hall operating hours are 9:00am – 12:00 pm and 1:00pm - 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
The City also offers an after-hours drop box located in the parking lot. Please do NOT leave cash in this box.

If you need to change the name and/or billing address for a property tax bill, please provide this information to the Treasurer’s office in writing. For your convenience, there is a notice of change form located under forms on the website.
